On July 10th 2020 a single “What the World Needs Now” was released by Lawrence Hill on the Inheritance Record Label. Thereafter a commercial and lyric video was released to promote the single.
The commercial and lyric videos were selected and aired on the Washington DC H-Street virtual festival. The festival programmers infused scenes and people from the Washington DC area. The timing of the video airing was priceless as viewers resonated with the message.
It was decided that others should be allowed to express the wishes for more Love in the World. So a competition is now being offered for others to express their wishes via a lyric video. There will be 2 categories . An Individual and a Church entry. The individual contest will award cash prizes of:
1st Place : $250.00
2nd Place: $150.00 &
3rd Place: $75.00
Please complete the entry form (below) agreeing to the rules and regulations of the contest. Once we have received your entry form a lyric sheet, a link to the original video and the H-Street Washington D.C video will be forward to you. Other instructions will be sent.
The last date for entry is January 15, 2021. All Entries must be received by January 29, 2021

CONTEST AGREEMENT. The following is a legal agreement (“Agreement”) between you (“Entrant”) and Inheritance Records and Production (“IRP”, “We”, “Us”, “Our”), which governs this Contest as defined herein and related property, advertisements, forms, events, prizes, communications, rules, and all other terms related to the Contest. By submitting an entry for consideration (“Entry”) in the Contest, the Entrant agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions in this Agreement.
WHEREAS, the Entrant is an individual that has submitted an Entry in the Contest under the rules of this Agreement. WHEREAS, (IRP) is the creator of the Contest and has sole discretion as to the interpretation, regulation, and any and all determinations regarding the Contest as described herein under this Agreement.
WHEREAS, The “Contest” is an event held open for a limited time as provided in this Agreement, where (IRP) invites all Entrants, who are eligible under the terms and conditions of this Agreement, to accept its offer to participate in the Contest by submitting a maximum of three (1) piece of artwork of the Entrant’s choosing, per category, as provided herein (“Contest Category(s)”).
Prizes have been determined by IRP, consistent with the terms and conditions of this Agreement
1. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY RETRICTIONS. To be eligible to enter a competition:
1.1 The maximum number of entries to a competition per person is 1.
1.2 The maximum number of entries for a competition shall be at our sole discretion, but no less than 50 entries. Once this number of entries have been received, the competition will be closed to new entries, notwithstanding the published closing date.
2. START AND CLOSING DATE
2.1 A competition shall open for entries at the time and on the date specified on our website and/or social media channels, and similarly, shall close to entries at the time and on the date specified on our website and social media channels unless otherwise stated, these times and dates are set.
2.2 Any entries received before the opening or after the closing of the competition will be invalid and will not be entered into the competition.
2.3 No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
2.4 We reserve the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of our control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by us.
2.5 Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of all of these terms and conditions.
3. JUDGING
3.1 Competition entries shall be judged or winners selected on the basis of those criteria specified on our website and/or social media channels in relation to the competition.
3.2 If a competition entrant does not meet the eligibility requirements or is subject to any entry restrictions, that entrant shall not be entitled to be adjudged a winner, and will not be entitled to a prize in any circumstances.
3.5 Our decision, in respect of all matters to do with the competition, will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
4. WINNERS AND PRIZES
4.2 Competition prize winners will be notified of the competition result by email (if address is asked for/provided) or by direct message on social media (winners must therefore ‘like’ or ‘follow’ our social media accounts in order to be contacted about prizes), not more than 30 days following the closing date of the competition, and will receive their prizes not more than 60 days following that closing date.
4.3 Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the prize winner for 14 days but if the winner fails to respond to our notification attempts within this time or provide an address for delivery of the prize or fails to meet any of the eligibility requirements or is otherwise unable to comply with the competition terms and conditions, we reserve the right to disqualify that entrant and offer the prize to the next eligible entrant and thereafter until a winner is found.
4.4 The results of a competition will be announced on our website within 30 days following the closing date of the competition. The announcement may include the name and photograph, the town or region of residence and prize details of each prize winner.
4.5 The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
5. COPYRIGHT LAW: The creation of the videos and raw (unedited) footage is the Intellectual Property of the contestant. The final product belongs to IRP, granting the contestant permission to share and use final videos for any promotional purpose. Contestant may share final video as part of their portfolio.
A competition to create a lyric or action video for the song “What the World Needs Now” recorded by Lawrence Hill. The competition would be for a cash prize ranging from:
First Place; $250.00
Second place: 150.00 and
Third Place: $75.00
The contestants may use any image, photos, film, and videos and incorporate dancing and other artistic expressions.
A TV track copy of the song will be provided upon proof of purchase of song single. Any vocal additions must contain 50% of the original vocal. (remix?)
The contestants must purchase the single.
8. INDEMNIFICATION. The Entrant agrees to fully indemnify, defend, and hold IRP and its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, shareholders, partners, and agents (the “IRP parties”) harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, costs, and expenses (including lawyer’s fees) incurred by any IRP party in connection with: (i) any falsification of information on the Entry form by the Entrant, (ii) any breach by the Entrant of the Agreement, (iii) any breach by the Entrant under any legally binding agreement, (iv) any misuse or misrepresentation of legally protected property by the Entrant in relation to this Contest, and/or (v) the violation of any and all laws including but not limited to Federal law and the laws of ALL states applicable.
9. COMPETITION ENTRIES will not be returned. Please, therefore, keep a copy of your competition entries.
10. PUBLICITY: IRP may undertake publicity activities relating to competitions and prize awards. The winner therefore agrees to the use of their name, photograph and disclosure of town or region of residence in any post-prize-winning publicity names, surnames, towns or regions of residence and prize details.
All other personal details collected as part of the competition will be used in conjunction with our Privacy Policy.
11. RESPONSIBILITY OF ADDITIONAL FOOTAGE: Contestant will be responsible for clearance of all additional download material, stock footage, films and pictures. Contestant will guarantee with documentation. Purchase of any material used is the sole responsibility of the contestant.
The material cannot be racially insensitive, political, sexual bias against anyone, nor sexual in nature.
The videos can be no longer than 5 minutes.
The video cannot be released as a product by the contestant.
For the contestant’s inspiration a sample of what a contestant can do, IRP’s music video is available in addition to the original lyric video. The use of lyrics is not necessary or mandatory.
The winning videos will be broadcast on several internet stations, posted on the primary YouTube station, the Inheritance YouTube channel, and other affiliate internet cable stations.
A live taped show will be aired to announce the winners. A pre-taped profile of the top ten contestants will air on selected internet and television shows.
The last date for entry is January 8, 2021. All Entries must be received by January 22, 2021
